With the new SHOT Show registration page up and running, I wanted to take a moment to invite you to take part in a pre-SHOT Show event that has become one of our most important of SHOT® Week™: the annual NSSF/HAVA Golf Classic.
Now in its third year, the NSSF/HAVA Golf Classic raises money to support disabled veterans with their healing process through guided hunts, target shooting events and other outdoor activities. HAVA stands for Honored American Veterans Afield, a 501(c)(3) organization and one of the most worthy veteran-support causes we know, one from which the veterans actually see and experience the results of the charitable contributions made to the organization. It is also one that our entire industry stands behind—indeed, HAVA was formed by companies in the shooting and outdoor industry—and I think that underscores how valuable and important this cause is and how deeply committed we are to helping these veterans recover from their wounds and return to normal, functional lives.
The 3rd Annual NSSF/HAVA Golf Classic will be held Sunday, January 15, two days before the opening of the 2017 SHOT Show. Bear’s Best Las Vegas will be the host course for the event, which kicks off with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Registration is now open for individuals and four-member firearms industry teams. Individual entries are $200, while four-person team entries are $600. All entries include transportation to and from the outing, golf cart rental, course fees, course balls, breakfast, lunch and participant gifts. Prizes will be awarded for high team and individuals at the event’s conclusion. For more information and to register for this important event, visit www.shotshow.org/golf.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for this important event, and interested industry members are encouraged to visit www.shotshow.org/golf and contribute to this worthy cause. With your help, we know that this event will continue to grow and continue to be something from which those who have given so much get back not just a thank you for their service, but an experience that helps them heal and continue to lead full and productive lives.
