John will demonstrate the techniques used to gain control in a confrontation during low light situations, including use of a laser sighting system. You'll learn management and tactical tips for use of rail-mounted lights with and without lasers and strobes. Techniques with various handheld lights will also be demonstrated. Safety issues, including vision during low light and common myths will be discussed in the training.

A self-proclaimed training junkie, he has attended most of the major firearms schools as well as teaching courses himself all across America. He is the author of over 1,000 articles for major firearms periodicals and police trade journals and is the author of two books Defensive Living and Handgun Combatives.

Dale Stockton, Editor, Law Officer Magazine is a 32-year-veteran of law enforcement, having worked in all areas of police operations and investigations. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the California Supervisory Leadership Institute, the FBI Southwest Command College and holds a graduate degree from the University of California School of Criminology, Law and Society. He has served as a Commissioner for California POST , the agency responsible for all California policing standards and training. He has been recognized as the most widely published public safety writer and photographer in the country and has taught college level criminal justice classes for twenty years.

Dave Young is the Founder and Director of ARMA, now part of the PoliceOne Training Network. He is also the Chairman of PoliceOne.com Advisory Board, and a training advisor for CorrectionsOne.com. Dave graduated from his first law enforcement academy in 1985, and now has over 25 years of combined civilian and military law enforcement and training experience. He was a sworn corrections and law enforcement officer in the state of Florida and has served as a gate sentry, patrol officer, watch commander, investigator, Special Reaction Team (SRT) member, leader and commander in the United States Marine Corps.

John Gnagey

Mr. John Gnagey retired after 30 years with the Champaign Illinois Police Department. John was the Deputy Chief of the Special Operations Bureau and was a member of the Champaign SWAT team. He was team commander of the Special Weapons and Tactics Unit, the Hostage Negotiation Unit and the Explosive Ordinance Demolition Team for 16 years. John currently serves as Executive Director for the National Tactical Officers Association, and earned the NTOA John Kolman Award for Excellence in 1998.

He is principal liaison between the NTOA and the Department of Homeland Security, Chemical Sector Specific Agency, Executive Management office, U.S. Department of Defense, Combating Terrorism Technology Support Office and Technical Support Working Group and the National Institute of Justice. John has written several articles on SWAT leadership and police management issues which have been published in The Tactical Edge, FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin and The Police Chief. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a B.S. Degree in Occupational and Practical Arts Education and a Master of Education Degree.

Travis Yates

Travis Yates is the 2008 Law Officer Trainer of the Year and is a captain with the Tulsa (Okla.) Police Department. He has been involved in police driver training since 1996. His Web site, www.policedriving.com, is dedicated to EVOC.

R.K. Miller

Law Officer's Train the Trainer columnist, retired from the Huntington Beach (Calif.) Police Department as a lieutenant after 30 years of service in a variety of assignments, including FTO, trauma support, beach detail, detective, SWAT and field supervisor. He serves on staff at the Golden West College Police Academy as an instructor and Officer in Charge of the SWAT Academy, is on the California Association of Tactical Officers Board of Directors and is an instructor for the NRA Law Enforcement Activities Division and his own company, National Training Concepts Inc. Miller holds a bachelor's degree and is a Marine Corps Vietnam veteran. He currently serves as a reserve officer with the Orange (Calif.) Police Department.

Tal Barashi has 18 years of active duty, training development, and consulting experience for the Israeli Military and Minister of Defense. He specializes in anti-terror groups and security assessments for corrections, railway systems and ships.

Jim Glennon

Lt. (Ret) Jim Glennon is a third generation law enforcement officer and began his career in 1980 with the Lombard, Ill. Police Department. He retired as a commander, having served as a patrol officer, detective, sergeant and investigative commander. He also served as the investigations commander for the DuPage County Major Crimes (Homicide) Task Force.

Glennon has a BA in Psychology and a Masters in Law Enforcement Justice Administration from Western Illinois University. He attended the School of Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University where he was elected class president, received the prestigious Kreml Leadership Award and subsequently taught for Northwestern.

Glennon taught Street Survival Seminar classes for eight years, serving as both the lead instructor and the curriculum director. He specializes in seminars that deal with officer safety, interaction skills and leadership. He is an accomplished writer and is the author of the book, Arresting Communication: Essential Interaction Skills for Law Enforcement.
